We here at Public Myth love our organic cotton clothing, especially when it’s mixed with a little bamboo. With it\u2019s super soft hand feel, this fleece is like nothing you\u2019ve worn before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone should know what their clothing is made from, and how it was made. We\u2019re here to help with that. While you\u2019re probably aware of how important knowing what you\u2019re putting in your body is, it\u2019s just as important knowing what you\u2019re putting on it. When we wear synthetic fabrics we risk exposing ourselves to the harmful chemicals used in production. These exposures can lead to problems such as: rashes, headaches, and dizziness. These are just a few of the reasons it\u2019s important to go as natural as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why we add Bamboo to our Fleece?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This ethically made fabric is a blend of 60% organic cotton and 40% bamboo viscose. Milled in Montreal, it is fully sustainable and ecologically friendly. Although organic cotton is already softer than conventional cotton, the bamboo added to this fleece makes it stand out. Because of how soft and eco-friendly this fabric is, it\u2019s incomparable to traditional fleece. Once you give this fabric a try, you\u2019ll feel just as we did; like you\u2019ve finally found the piece your wardrobes been missing. We know that after wearing this fleece, you\u2019ll never want to take it off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  This fleece has all the benefits of bamboo while providing all the softness of the organic cotton. This means that you\u2019ll stay nice and comfy in fleece but with the durability, breathability, and temperature regulation of bamboo. Bamboo serves as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal due to it\u2019s possession of \u201cbamboo kun\u201d, a bacteriostatic property that keeps clothes fresh and odour free. What is Organic Cotton?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGrowing conventional cotton uses an approximate 2,000 gallons of water more than the production of organic cotton.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Organic cotton is the sustainable, eco-friendly cousin of the conventional cotton everyone knows and loves. What makes it different from conventional cotton is the feeling and how it\u2019s grown. Organic cotton is noticeably softer when compared to conventional. It\u2019s also much more absorbent than conventional cotton. Organic cotton is hypoallergenic and won\u2019t cause skin irritations from any leftover chemicals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Organic cotton is grown with non-GMO seeds and without the use of pesticides and chemicals. The chemicals used in growing conventional cotton are some of the most harmful on the planet. These chemicals and pesticides do more than contribute to bee deaths and ocean pollution, they severely impact the lives of the farmers growing the cotton. Being exposed to these agents causes cancer and other deadly diseases. In 2017, it was estimated that an approximate 200,000 people died from the toxic exposure of these pesticides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Aside from saving the lives of our farmers, growing cotton organically also benefits the environment. Growing conventional cotton uses an approximate 2,000 gallons of water more than the production of organic cotton. The chemicals used also impact the crops the cotton is grown in, often making them unusable for the growing other crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
